But only because I'll get to sleep a little later! I've really enjoyed my time working with the folks in production, but getting here by 8 a.m. everyday has been a real exercise in sleep-deprivation.
It involves leaving the apartment by 6:30 a.m. in order to catch the bus, which then drops me at the central station where I catch the train at 7:05 a.m. This puts me in my office about 7:45 (after a 7 or 8 minute walk). I thought that my body would eventually adjust to it, but it hasn't…so I'll be very glad to go back to starting my day at 8:30 next week. (Which means I don't have to leave the apartment until 7:10 a.m.) I know a half-hour doesn't sound like much, but for some reason I function so much better on 7 hours of sleep than I do on 6 and a-half.
I actually overslept this morning. Not by much…15 minutes maybe. (My guess is that I turned the clock-radio off rather than hitting the snooze-bar.) In any case, I did manage to shower, make coffee and get to the bus stop on time…so it's good to know that it can be done in an emergency. And in my rushing around I managed to wake Dr. Darling (a major feat considering that she sleeps like she's dead) so we even exchanged a few works this morning…which was nice. I've since discovered that in my rushing around I also forgot to put on deo/anti-perspirant…which was not so nice.
Today the "quiet car" was blissfully so…the silence interrupted only once…by the ticket-taker. And what I wanna know is…where the hell was he on Monday when the menagerie was let loose?!
