The weather was so COMPLETELY gorgeous the past two days that I spent nearly all of the weekend outdoors.
On Saturday I joined some fellow expats in Copenhagen for a "Footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen" walking tour of the city. (Yes, I dragged Dr. Darling along as well…because technically, a even a Swede qualifies as a foreigner in Denmark.) We had a great visit with the Copenhagen Crew that included a deliciious lunch at a Middle Eastern café, not to mention lots of insider tidbits on the sights we were seeing. It was a really wonderful day. Check out Lizardek’s Obiter Dictum for visual evidence. (My friend Liz is much more efficient about getting pictures from her camera to her blog than I could ever hope to be…but I took some, honest!)
We got back to Malmö a little after 7 p.m. and stopped for an ice cream on the beach during the bike ride home from the train station. That gave us just enough time for a quick nap before one of my Top 5 Favorite Movies, Mulholland Drive, came on TV. (And if you’ve seen the movie, you know that you need to be wide awake to keep track of what’s going on in it…and sometimes that’s not even enough.)
Sunday was equally gorgeous and we spent most of the afternoon on our bikes, eventually pedalling 32 kilometers through some parts of the area we’ve never been before. Later we had dinner with friends in the city (I love it when that happens on my night to cook!)…spring rolls which we made ourselves. Really tasty…but rice paper is a really strange thing to handle…let alone eat.
