I’ve been doing my best not to complain too much about the incredibly long stretch of cool and wet weather this part of Sweden has been enduring over the last three weeks. But when a long-anticipated day of sailing had to be postponed today because of rain, my ability to keep any whining in check was severely compromised. Especially since we had scrapped plans to spend the day in Copenhagen lunching with friends and watching the annual Pride Parade in order to go sailing.
The day wasn’t a total wash-out since Dr. Darling and I managed to use the extra time to get a good jump on preparation for our upcoming bike tour. But I’ve got to admit, it’s hard to get excited about a cycling vacation when you haven’t seen the sun shine in weeks.
The sailing trip has been tentatively rescheduled for tomorrow, but according to the latest forecast, the weather is even less likely to cooperate on Sunday than it was today. So I did the only thing I could think of to both lessen my disappointment and increase the likelihood of dry conditions tomorrow.
I bought a new rain jacket.
