The week after returning from vacation is always tough, but this particular week was pretty much "hell on wheels" courtesy of a MAJOR project involving three different departments that’s now past due. Of course it didn’t help matters that I was in meetings for two solid days instead of helping to push things along and/or putting out fires. Plus, I had to say goodbye to two of my absolute favorite co-workers (one of whom was my boss) who are moving on to other challenges.
So I was REALLY ready for this week to be over…and I’m looking forward to catching up on some sleep this weekend and possibly sailing Victoria with Dr. Darling, who has been obsessively assembling her for the last three days. She’s been so busy with that project that she barely noticed I was missing at dinner last night. The first recording session for my portion of Svetlana’s radio show was scheduled after work in Lund and I didn’t get home until nearly 8 p.m.
The recording session went really well, primarily because Svetlana did not try to over-manage things and let me do my thing. She was positively gushing afterward…clearly not remembering that I worked in radio for years before moving to Sweden. She also wasn’t stinky for a change…which I was especially glad about because she hugged me twice. (It was part of the "gushing".)
