Politics, schmolitics

Nearly comatose Faithful readers of Shazzerspeak have likely noticed that I haven’t written much about U.S. politics and policy over the past few months. This is mostly because I’ve just been too saddened and horrified by the State of the beloved Union to comment…especially when there are so many other voices out in the blogosphere that share my views but are better informed and more articulate in expressing the outrage.

But now that my fellow Americans in the Motherland seem to be waking up (FINALLY) to the nightmare that is the Bush II administration (the latest polls show his job approval rating at an all-time low of 35%), I feel like I’m getting some inspiration back.  Or maybe I’m just using that as a cover for the overpowing urge I have to shout  "I TOLD you so!" at the top of my lungs.

In any case, I am ready to start sharing some of my favorite finds from across the web again, and I’ll start with this gem from BobHarris.com in which he compares the latest poll numbers for both Dubya and V.P. Halliburton against other things that some percentage of Americans believe in…like corporal punishment and aliens. (Yes, you read that right.)

Enjoy.
