No, Dr. Darling and I are not involved in a fist-fight. (Even if we were angry with each other and inclined to physical confrontation, we don’t have the energy to do anything about it right now.) We are in the midst of our annual battle with post-U.S. trip jet-lag, however.
I actually went to work yesterday and was fairly productive, but am very happy that Epiphany is an official holiday here and I’m not in the office today. My body clock is well and truly off-kilter and I was wide awake until almost 3 a.m., though I did sleep solidly once I dozed off.
I forced myself to get up and move to the couch at 10:30 this morning, but Dr. Darling stayed in bed until just after noon. This didn’t really surpirise me given that she’s a gifted sleeper, but I found out later that she had been up from 3 and 6. So we’ve spent the day surfing, watching TV and dozing. I did finish unpacking my suitcase and the Swede has managed to take a shower…but that’s about it. We couldn’t even muster the where-with-all to make anything original for dinner…mostly because our apetites are almost as out of whack as out sleep patterns.
I’m going to hit the sack at a decent hour tonight whether I’m tired or not, and then set an alarm for the morning…even though it’s Saturday.
