We’re back from a whirlwind trip to Falkenberg to celebrate a belated Christmas with my father-in-law and his sambo. It was "whirlwind" because 1) I refuse to give up both weekend nights in my own bed so we were only there for a little more than 24 hours, and B) our 23-month old nephew also stayed overnight with them too, providing all sorts of extra entertainment. (His parents were tackling a wallpapering project. Gee, I can’t imagine why they didn’t want him around to help!)
As usual, they were gracious and generous and fed us way too much really good food. The weather was considerably colder than it is down here on the Swedish Riviera, so we didn’t spent a great deal of time outdoors except for our usual walk along the river. We also drove out to an isolated spot on the coast where we were able to see more than 20 seals resting on the rocks just offshore…which was pretty cool.
Best of all, I was able to take my new baby with me and actually take care of some e-mail while we were there. Sweet! Now that we’ve discovered how easy it is to take along and connect to the net via the data account on my mobile phone, I suspect it will become a very well-travelled little machine!
