Thanks to the combined circumstances of Laundry Day plus the stack of moving boxes taller than me (which isn’t saying much) that’s blocking my closet at the moment, I ended up wearing blue jeans, a sweatshirt and duckboots to my office today.
And because this is Sweden, where every day is "Casual Friday" with regard to accepted business attire, no one has even given me a second look.
Of course I’ve pretty much been living in my trusty Timberlands the past two months because of all the fripping snow we’ve had this winter…so that could have something to do with it. Plus blue jeans are worn regularly by virtually everyone in the office with the exception of the CEO and CFO (are CFO’s even allowed to own denim?), so that wouldn’t have set off any alarms, either.
I love the fact that I can turn up to work at the corporate headquarters of a large international company wearing blue jeans and duckboots, but the sweatshirt is even a little too casual for me…the self-pronounced Queen of the Utilitarian Comfort Wardrobe.
Still, I’m not complaining…just marvelling. Which is an excellent way to start a weekend, BTW!
