…to buy an iPhone.
Not only has Apple released a new new fleet of iPods including one with the infamous iPhone interface, the company has also slashed the price of the 8Gig iPhone by $200…something that prompted a bit of justified outrage from many of the early adopters who've had their "Jesus Phones" for just a little over two months now. Steve Jobs has is trying to smooth things over by giving those folks $100 worth of credit toward future purchases at Apple Stores, but I'm not sure that would have made me feel much better.
In the meantime, the new Touch has me seriously thinking about changing my status as the only person in the civilized world who does not already own an iPod. I've just never had any need or even a huge desire to carry music around with me…nor did I want to put in the time and effort to get music on my iBook so it could be moved over to a portable device. It's just easier to listen to the radio in my mobile phone (and better for my ever-developing Swedish language skills).
But my pal Bex had her iPod with her during her recent stay at The Penthouse-Nordic, and I got to see first hand how she uses it to listen to free Podcasts on all manner of subjects, like the arts, technology, politics, etc., as well as how easily the iTunes program makes it to get content from the computer to the iPod.
So I'll give you three guess what's at the top of my Christmas list, and the first two don't count!
