I seem to be paying for the fact that I skated through the harshest winter southern Sweden has had in years without much more than a runny nose. Because now, in the middle of May for crying outloud, I'm sneezing, coughing, and trying to fend off a sore throat.
This is probably because I refused to switch back to my winter coat when spring temperatures mysteriously disappeared at the beginning of the month. And par for the course, the worst of the symptoms waited until the long holiday weekend (Ascension Day holiday yesterday plus today's "squeeze day") to really make me uncomfortable.
Fortunately I was able to medicate myself into relative silence for the TEDxÖresund conference today. It was a terrific event and videos of the presentations will be posted at the website in a few days time, at which point I will share my thoughts on some of the ideas that were exchanged. At the moment my head is still spinning from the information overload, and the fact that the cold meds are wearing off.
So for now, I'm going to curl up on the couch with a large gin & tonic, for medicinal purposes…of course.
