So this morning, I was wide-awake when Dr. Darling left for work at 4:35 a.m. I usually hear, and often even manage to speak to, Copenhagen’s Ph.D Postal carrier at that hour, but have no problem falling back to sleep until my alarm goes off an hour later.
But when 5:30 rolled around, I proceeded to hit the snooze bar at least 3 (and possibly 4) times, thus blowing off my plan to work-out before going to the office. This left me a little disappointed in myself, because while I had managed to get some cardio in during the week, I hadn’t done any weight training at all.
Since I no longer had enough time to do any lifting, I decided to at least try get to the office early, and while scrambling around getting ready to leave, I noticed our set of 2 lb. wrist weights on the floor. As I was planning to walk to work anyway, strapping them on seemed like reasonable payback for not going to the gym.
I still stand by that decision for the 7 a.m. power-walk TO the office when the streets were fairly deserted. But I’m probably going to need most of the weekend to recover from the embarrassment of realizing how dorky I looked on the 4:30 p.m. walk home. .
