Choosing one’s carbs carefully

So how does an American expat who has been avoiding most carbs for over year now celebrate a July 4th birthday in Sweden?

Very deliberately, and evidently very Anglo-centrically … starting with scones for breakfast.

Of course once you’ve lined your stomach with an Espresso House scone slathered with cream cheese and elderberry jam, you’re set up nicely for gin & tonics on the balcony of a some friends’ fabulous Western Harbor condo overlooking the Öresund.
